Up date on Dr's

I went to the Dr's on Monday hoping to get off bed rest, however I ended up giving my mom and the Dr a good laugh (wishful thinking on my part I suppose). I am still on bed rest and will be for the remainder of the pregnancy. I am to go to the O.B. for a stress test once a week and a regular doctors appointment once a week as well. We go to the specialty Dr on Tuesday the third to determine the progress and well being of the twins. This appointment will tell us how they are doing and if the specialty Dr wants to keep seeing me or if they are putting into my O.B.s hands for the rest of the pregnancy. We will have more info for everyone on Tuesday the third.

Pioneer Day (24th of July)

Being on bed rest really puts a damper on going anywhere for the 24th so we came up with our own fire work fun. Bob and Carter picked out the fire works and as you can tell both seemed to really enjoy themselves using these dangerous items that as citizens we are drawn to. Carter really loved using the snaps as we call them until he noticed that I had a tall container of water then he stoped doing fire works and started drinking my water instead (he had one wet and heavy diaper later that night). Bob had a blast twisting different fireworks together to see what would happen and most of the time is was ok but he did manage to burn his fingers a couple of times (which served him right for using the fire works incorrectly). I can only hope that Carter was not paying that much attention when Bob was messing around with them, but then again he is a boy and boys will be boys regardless of whether or not they are paying attention at the time they seem to figure it out on their own. At any rater we had a blast and loved to see how Carter would react to the noises and colors from the fire works.

SUCCESS on the potty!

Happy 24th of July. We are celebrating not only the pioneers reaching the valley but our son asked to go poop on the potty as you can tell by the flushing picture below (sorry did not realize my camera is that quick). This is the second time that he has asked to use the big boy potty to go poop, we are very very proud of him. Carter also earned his dump truck for using the potty. As you can tell by the pictures he is very possessive yet proud that he earned the dump truck (I am just glad that he earned it so that it is finally off my dresser). We are hoping that it will go up hill from here and that he will be potty trained or close to before the twins come, would save us alot of money in the future, though I am not sure which is easier potty trained or diapers that is still up for debate.

Family Home Evening

Every once in awhile we remember that we need to have family home evening and tonight worked out great. Carter was so into the Friend (a magazine for children produced by the LDS church) that Bob nearly read every story to him. We then sang songs, one in particular about popcorn popping on the apricot tree which sparked Carter's intrest in having popcorn for treats. Carter however kept plugging his ears saying that it was too loud and just wanted the popcorn to be out of the microwave. While eating our family home evening treat Carter kept asking to see the twins and if he could share with them. He is going to make such a great big brother. Following treats he kept telling us that the twins would sleep in his big boy bed with him so we went on a tour of where the babies would be sleeping and what would occur once they arrived (we usually repeat this about once or twice a week). Bob and I are excited and nervous for the twins to arrive and how our son will react towards them.

Playing in the sprinklers

This is what sprinklers look like when the black rubber piece is missing from the hose. Did not seem to put a damper in Carters fun though, he loved drinking or rather sucking the water out of the hose.

Raccoon Ball

So just this evening Carter decides to come up with this game called "Raccoon Ball" that involves two golf clubs and my college graduation blow up ball. It was very entertaining to sit and watch both Bob and Carter come up with rules on how to play this game. I tried to post video but am still new at this posting business and have yet to figure it out, sorry next time hopefully. There is a similar game that Carter often plays which we refer to as "Caveman Ball" that involves a small soft baseball bat and a blue ball, he loves to play this game right before Bob comes home from work. We love to listen to the new games that Carter comes up with, he is very entertaining to observe and we love having him as our son.

Dr's visit

Well went to my o.b. today to learn that I am on moderate bed rest and if I am not careful full bed rest if the cramping and contractions I am feeling keep persisting. Pray that these babies of ours stay in for at least another five to six weeks. I am going to the Dr's now every two weeks, so we will see on the 26 what occurs.
